The National Security Service announced the execution of proactive security operations in Baghdad and Karbala, resulting in the apprehension of several individuals accused of threatening social peace and inciting strife. In an official statement, the Service detailed that its detachments in the capital arrested an individual in the Abu Ghraib district for publishing extremist content promoting terrorism and inciting sectarianism on social media, confiscating communication devices and extremist materials in his possession. In a separate operation in Baghdad, a suspect was arrested for attempting to disrupt public peace by disrespecting religious rituals. In Karbala, in coordination with relevant authorities, security forces neutralized an altercation provoked by a group of 14 foreign nationals who attempted to assault pilgrims. The Service confirmed that all suspects have been referred to the judiciary for necessary legal action.
