mniraq - The Ministry of Transport announced the complete cancellation of all no-fly zones in Iraqi airspace, officially removing them from the internationally recognized Iraqi Aeronautical Information Publication.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that the military airspaces previously listed in the publication are no longer used for military operations. It declared the closure of the restricted zones file, bringing the entirety of Iraq's skies and airspace under absolute national sovereignty.
The ministry indicated that the decision to lift the ban and achieve full air sovereignty will strategically contribute to increasing the flexibility of using Iraqi airspace and improving the flow of both transit and domestic civil aviation traffic.
It emphasized that this step will develop flight routes and enhance the operational efficiency of air navigation in Iraq, which will positively impact economic revenues and the country's international standing.
