The General Directorate of Military Intelligence announced the seizure of large quantities of narcotic pills in the Anbar desert that were prepared for smuggling and distribution, as part of a qualitative security operation carried out before they reached the distribution stage. The directorate explained that the operation came in implementation of leadership directives, and based on accurate intelligence information and continuous follow-up, where units managed to seize more than eighty-one thousand narcotic pills found in a desert area along with a tracking device that was used to secure the transport and smuggling operation. It added that the seized materials were dealt with according to legal procedures and applicable regulations.
