Security apparatuses, in coordination with competent water resource authorities, have executed an extensive campaign to eliminate encroachments on rivers and irrigation projects in the northern areas of the capital, Baghdad. The field operations resulted in the filling and dismantling of numerous illegally unlicensed fish ponds. These stringent measures are part of the government's ongoing efforts to preserve water quotas designated for the agricultural sector, prevent the squandering of water resources, and ensure the equitable distribution of water.
