The Federal Integrity Commission announced the dismantling of a network specialized in smuggling and selling scrap metal in Maysan Governorate, noting that the operation followed the uncovering of collusion involving some employees in provincial departments. Field investigations and surveillance of several state-owned sites resulted in the arrest of eight suspects caught in the act of collecting and stacking materials in preparation for smuggling. All necessary legal actions have been taken against the accused, and judicial orders have been issued to conduct investigations in accordance with the provisions of the Iraqi Penal Code.
