Health and Security Authorities Seize 390,000 Smuggled Medical Items in Diyala Province

Health authorities in Diyala Province announced the seizure of approximately 390,000 smuggled medical items, in cooperation and joint coordination with competent security forces. The operation was carried out by setting up a tight ambush for a vehicle loaded with smuggled medicines, resulting in its seizure and the arrest of the violator. Health and regulatory detachments handled the inspection and verification procedures of the confiscated goods. Relevant authorities indicated that this operation is one of the largest seizures aimed at limiting the circulation of medicines not subject to health supervision. Authorities confirmed the continuation of intensive inspection campaigns to prevent the trade of smuggled medicines and to take strict legal measures against violators to protect citizens' health and ensure market safety.
