General Traffic Directorate Denies Vehicle Tinting Approval, Warns Violators of Financial Penalties

The General Traffic Directorate categorically denied circulating rumors regarding the approval of vehicle window tinting, confirming that current laws prohibit this practice regardless of the tint percentage. The Directorate clarified that while proposals to amend traffic laws to allow specific tint percentages have been submitted, they have yet to receive any official approval. It emphasized that standard legal procedures entail the immediate removal of the tint at the site of the violation, coupled with the imposition of strict financial fines on offending drivers. Regarding the Kurdistan Region, the Directorate noted that the region operates under independent traffic laws that permit tinting subject to specific fees and percentages, affirming its respect for the legislation enforced within the region.
