The General Traffic Directorate announced the success of its comprehensive traffic plan for the Ashura commemorations, recording positive metrics in managing the flow of pilgrims and vehicles toward the holy governorate of Karbala. Official statistics indicated the entry of over 198,000 vehicles into the governorate, varying between private cars, taxis, trucks, and other vehicle types. The Directorate reported that traffic fluidity exceeded 70%, with a 99% deployment rate for traffic personnel and a 100% success rate for the reverse dispatch plan. Measures included securing 164 traffic intersections and deploying 16 speed radars. In a major organizational achievement, zero accidents, fatalities, or injuries were recorded inside Karbala during the visit, accompanied by a significant nationwide decrease in traffic accidents and violations.
