The authorities managing religious shrines in Diyala Governorate announced the end of the maximum security alert and the lifting of multiple security perimeters around 16 religious shrines and mausoleums following the conclusion of the Eid holiday. Organizational and administrative procedures have returned to normal after recording exceptional influx levels of visitors, considered the highest in years. Security stability and high-level organization contributed to the success of the visits without recording any breaches. Authorities are currently working on preparing and implementing new security and logistical plans in anticipation of receiving massive numbers of visitors during upcoming religious occasions.
