Two Drowning Fatalities Recorded and Two Individuals Rescued Across Three Iraqi Provinces

River Police sources reported on Friday the death of two young men by drowning, while two others were successfully rescued within a few hours across three provinces. Security authorities detailed that the first fatality occurred in the Tigris River within the capital, Baghdad, and the second in the Zab River near Kirkuk province. Concurrently, river rescue teams managed to save two young men from drowning in the Nazim al-Sudur area, northeast of Diyala province. Authorities have warned of a significant rise in drowning incidents in recent weeks across several provinces, including Nineveh, Dhi Qar, Diyala, and Salah al-Din. This increase coincides with rising temperatures, prompting heightened vigilance and emergency readiness among river police units nationwide.
