mniraq - Iraq is approaching a new phase in developing its air defenses, anticipating the arrival of advanced systems and long-range radars, amid parliamentary calls to provide the necessary financial allocations to keep pace with military and technological developments.
The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stated that the new systems represent a strategic shift in building military capabilities, providing the potential to enforce sovereignty over airspace and counter violations.
He added that the project aims to protect vital infrastructure, reduce reliance on external arrangements, and enhance security independence.
In contrast, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called for reviewing the Ministry of Defense's financial allocations to match modern armament requirements.
