A security source reported today, Wednesday (May 6, 2026), that an electric elevator fell inside a residential building in the Al-Aadhamiya area while a woman and a child were inside.
He explained that civil defense teams arrived immediately at the accident site and managed to carry out a rapid rescue operation that resulted in extracting the child and the woman, while the latter was in a state of fainting due to shock.
He indicated that the injured were transferred to one of Baghdad's hospitals to receive treatment and undergo necessary medical examinations, and that their condition is currently stable.
