The Border Ports Authority, represented by the Basra International Airport Directorate, announced on Friday the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle quantities of medications and medical supplies in the possession of an arriving passenger. In a press release, the Directorate confirmed that the seizure resulted from meticulous inspection procedures inside the arrivals hall, revealing that the passenger carried the medications without the necessary official approvals from the Ministry of Health or medical reports justifying personal use. An official seizure report was prepared, and the passenger, along with the confiscated items, was referred to the competent security authorities at the airport for necessary legal action.
