Security agencies announced the thwarting of an attempted armed tribal attack (locally known as "Daka") through a well-executed security ambush in the capital, Baghdad. Official sources clarified that police detachments, backed by the Federal Police and the Rescue Police, rapidly responded to a physical altercation that resulted in one person being injured. Upon establishing a security cordon at the scene, authorities intercepted a vehicle and confiscated firearms, including three Kalashnikov rifles and a handgun. Five suspects planning to carry out the attack were arrested and referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.
