Qualitative Operation in Territorial Waters: International Drug Smuggling Ring Dismantled and 90 kg of Hashish Seized

mniraq - The General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs announced the foiling of a major smuggling operation and the dismantling of an international drug trafficking network in a qualitative security operation carried out deep within Iraqi territorial waters. The complex operation, conducted under judicial supervision and in joint coordination with Military Intelligence and Naval Forces, resulted in the seizure of 90 kilograms of hashish and the arrest of three smugglers, including a foreign national, along with the confiscation of two boats used for smuggling. The maritime mission involved long hours of precise monitoring, surveillance, and pursuit, through which security authorities affirmed that the depths of territorial waters will never serve as a safe haven for smuggling and organized crime syndicates.
