Medical sources reported casualties and injuries resulting from five separate traffic accidents that occurred over the past hours in the provinces of Anbar, Diyala, Baghdad, Dhi Qar, and Al-Muthanna. The accidents resulted in the death of an elderly citizen and varying injuries to 16 others.
The sources clarified that among the injured are a retired officer with the rank of Colonel, a government employee, as well as three women and two children. The injured were transported to receive emergency medical care, noting that four of them are in critical condition.
Medical and local sources attributed the causes of these accidents primarily to high-speed driving and a failure to adhere to safe overtaking rules on the roads.
