The Ministry of Interior announced a significant 18% decrease in crime rates during the first half of the current year compared to previous periods. In a press conference, the Ministry's spokesperson, Major General Miqdad Miri, stated that security forces seized 1,977 kilograms of narcotics and arrested 3,553 individuals on drug-related charges. Among those, 58 received death sentences, and 236 were sentenced to life imprisonment. He added that the ministry conducted 17 cross-border operations in coordination with neighboring and regional countries to dismantle trafficking rings. Additionally, authorities apprehended 289 individuals involved in tribal armed disputes, 102 for promoting banned extremist movements, and 50 for antiquities smuggling, alongside dozens of arrests for electronic blackmail, financial fraud, and human trafficking. In traffic enforcement, over 2.63 million traffic violations were recorded during the same period.
