Integrity Commission Initiates Procedures to Resolve the Stalled Construction of Al-Shuala and Al-Hurriya Hospitals

mniraq - The Federal Commission of Integrity announced on Sunday, August 23, 2026, the initiation of practical steps to resolve the cases of Al-Shuala and Al-Hurriya hospitals in the capital, Baghdad, after identifying the core reasons behind their years-long construction delays. The Commission clarified that the completion rates reached 92.7% for Al-Shuala Hospital and 73% for Al-Hurriya Hospital, noting that funding shortages, delayed payments, and medical equipment supply issues were the primary causes of the halt. The Commission confirmed that high-level coordination with relevant government entities has commenced to secure necessary financial allocations and complete infrastructure connections, paving the way for their operational launch.
