The residence of a prominent academic in the capital, Baghdad, was targeted with a sound bomb on Friday evening, in what is the second incident of its kind targeting the same location. Security sources reported that unknown individuals threw the sound bomb at the house located in the Palestine Street area, resulting only in material damage with no human casualties. The sources indicated that security apparatuses have initiated investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrators. It is worth noting that the targeted academic had previously informed concerned authorities of receiving threats related to administrative decisions concerning academic work.
