mniraq - The Central Criminal Court issued on Sunday (September 20, 2026) two prison and detention sentences against two convicts belonging to the deviant 'Al-Qurban' group.
A judicial statement stated that the first convict holds a deviant religious ideology and incited the second convict to commit suicide, for which he was sentenced to six years in prison pursuant to Article 9 of Law No. 32 of 2016 banning the Baath Party and racist, terrorist and takfiri entities, parties and activities, and in light of Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Penal Code.
The statement added that the court issued a second sentence against the second convict of simple imprisonment for one year, pursuant to Article 9 of the same law, with reference to Article 132/3 of the Penal Code.
