Security and competent authorities in Basra Governorate announced the outbreak of a fire in a rest area designated for drivers of heavy vehicles in the Umm Qasr district. The incident resulted in the burning of several mobile units within the site. Civil defense teams rushed to intervene immediately, successfully containing and fully extinguishing the flames, preventing them from spreading to adjacent areas. Preliminary investigations confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit and was classified as an accidental incident. No human casualties or injuries were recorded, with damages limited exclusively to material property.
