The Border Ports Authority announced the prevention of an attempt to squander public funds valued at over 40 million dinars at the Al-Munthiriya border crossing. The Authority stated that investigation and search teams seized two vehicles loaded with electrical cables after the customs description of the declared materials was forged to evade paying the required duties. Auditing operations uncovered the manipulation, leading to the referral of the vehicles and those involved to the competent legal authorities for necessary action. The Authority affirmed its commitment to tightening oversight and combating any attempts at smuggling and tampering with customs data to protect public funds.
