mniraq - The Federal Commission of Integrity announced the execution of an arrest warrant against five suspects representing the resident engineer's department of a project in Muthanna Province, due to their intentional damage to the funds and interests of the entity they work for. In an official statement, the Commission mentioned that a team formed at the Muthanna Investigation Office uncovered legal and technical violations in the rehabilitation project of Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital in Samawa. The Commission highlighted the arrest of three engineers and two surveyors in the resident engineer's department after proving discrepancies and violations in the estimated disclosure and price quotation. It added that the team monitored delays and stalling in the project's execution, despite the organization of a contract annex and the granting of a four-month extension. The statement pointed out the halt of some executed works, including cooling units, which directly and negatively impacted the services provided to visiting and admitted patients. An official seizure report was organized and presented along with the suspects before the judge of the Integrity Investigation Court in Muthanna, who decided to detain them in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.
