Civil defense teams successfully managed to completely control a fire that broke out inside a commercial and residential building in the capital, Baghdad, rescuing dozens of trapped individuals. Accompanying medical teams provided first aid and resuscitation services to those suffering from suffocation at the scene, before transferring them to hospitals for further treatment. Authorities noted that the building lacked occupational safety standards, and forensic experts have been summoned to investigate the causes of the incident and take necessary legal actions.
