Basra Trade Union Federation Demands Urgent Investigation Following the Death of a Worker on Duty

The Trade Union Federation in Basra Governorate demanded on Friday an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the death of a worker who passed away while descending into a sewage pumping station in the center of the governorate. In an official statement, the Federation's President, Ahmed Fahmi Al-Khafaji, emphasized that the safety of workers and their right to a secure work environment are top priorities and responsibilities that cannot be taken lightly. He stressed the need to hold accountable any party found negligent in providing protective and rescue equipment or enforcing occupational safety measures. He called for strict legal steps to ensure such incidents do not recur, extending his deepest condolences to the deceased worker's family and colleagues.
