mniraq - The Diyala Police Command announced on Wednesday (September 9, 2026) the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of more than one kilogram of crystal meth in their possession in Khanaqin district.
The command stated in a statement that detachments of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate in Diyala, in cooperation with police command detachments, managed to arrest the three suspects, two of whom are of foreign nationality.
It added that the operation resulted in the seizure of (1 kilogram and 65 grams) of crystal meth in the suspects' possession, noting that they were detained under Article (28) of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, and that legal measures were taken against them.
The command indicated that its campaigns to pursue drug traffickers and dealers and to dry up their sources are ongoing.
