Aggravated Prison Sentences Issued for Local Official and Spouse Following Conviction for Illicit Enrichment

Competent judicial authorities have issued a five-year aggravated prison sentence against the Director of Municipality Properties in Nasiriyah and his wife, who is employed in the same department. This ruling follows their conviction on charges of illicit enrichment and the illegal accumulation of wealth, in accordance with the provisions of the Commission of Integrity and Illicit Enrichment Law, and in conjunction with the relevant articles of the Penal Code in effect.
