Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) the detention of 25 persons who violated regulations by burning sanitary landfill waste in the Nahrawan and Al-Naba'i areas in Karkh and Rusafa sides.
The command explained that the operation comes within the framework of its campaigns to protect the environment and public health, and confront pollution resulting from the emission of gases and foul odors accompanying random burning.
It affirmed that these procedures aim to preserve the safety and health of citizens, and ensure the application of required environmental standards.
