The Ministry of Electricity announced that electricity interconnection projects with neighboring countries have entered their final stages, with technical inspection operations starting for the lines connecting with Jordan and the Gulf states. This interconnection aims to address the energy production deficit during the summer season and ensure the stability of the electric current in border areas and major cities. The ministry explained that this step will allow Iraq to enter the regional energy market, enabling it to import energy when needed and export surplus in the future after completing major local production stations. The interconnection will also contribute to improving the quality of electrical frequencies and protecting domestic and industrial devices from fluctuations, enhancing the national grid's efficiency and reducing power outage hours, reflecting positively on citizens' lives and commercial activity in the country.
