mniraq - The Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of prison sentences and financial fines against current and former officials in the National Investment Commission. The Commission clarified that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court sentenced the Director General of the Legal Department to one year in prison and a fine of ten million Iraqi dinars for extorting a company to renew an investment project contract. The same court also sentenced the former acting Director General of the Single Window Department to four years in prison and a similar fine due to legal violations related to an investment opportunity. The court confirmed that the evidence was sufficient to convict the accused under Resolution No. 160 of 1983.
