mniraq - A member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee, MP Rabie Al-Mousawi, revealed ongoing political pressure and efforts aimed at obstructing anti-corruption measures within the Ministry of Oil. Al-Mousawi noted that the Minister of Oil rejected a nomination from the Prime Minister's Office for the position of Director General of the Oil Products Distribution Company, as the nominee belongs to the same political block that previously managed the company.
He added that parties affected by the crackdown on corruption are mounting an escalation against the minister, emphasizing that managing key departments in an acting capacity is a temporary measure until qualified and trustworthy leaders are appointed.
