mniraq - MP Farooq Al-Yasiri, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, uncovered major financial irregularities and corruption suspicions at the Nasiriyah pumping station of the Oil Pipelines Company in Dhi Qar, where over 1.4 billion Iraqi Dinars were spent on drinking water procurement within a short period.
Al-Yasiri explained that Federal Supreme Audit Board reports showed the sum was spent in just 86 days under the pretext of supplying water to Energy Police units. He emphasized that spending occurred outside official powers using non-standard documentation, with water sourced freely from the facility and distributed via state vehicles without legal accountability.
