Iranian Foreign Minister from Baghdad: We Are Committed to Joint Cooperation and Call for Regional De-escalation

During his official visit to the Iraqi capital, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed his country's commitment to continuously strengthening strategic cooperation with Iraq across various security and economic fields. He noted that the visit occurs in a sensitive regional context, expressing appreciation for Iraq's official stances supporting stability. Araghchi addressed maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that transit operations would soon return to normal after obstacles are removed. He also emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive de-escalation and a halt to military operations on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon, urging the international community to take responsibility for ending tensions and ensuring the return of calm to the region.
