European Commission Enforces AI Transparency Rules with Heavy Fines for Non-Compliance

The European Commission has officially begun enforcing transparency rules under the European Union's AI Act, imposing severe financial penalties on violators. Under the new framework, organizations and businesses must clearly label AI-generated or manipulated media, including deepfakes, synthetic audio, and automated text. Additionally, companies are required to inform users whenever they are interacting with AI systems such as chatbots, with non-compliance facing fines of up to €15 million or 3% of global annual turnover.
