mniraq - The Federal Integrity Commission called on Sunday (September 20, 2026) for activating internal audit and oversight work in enforcement departments to protect public funds and combat corruption, pointing to the detection of major deficiencies in file preservation and delayed payment of dues at the Kadhimiya Enforcement Department.
The commission stated that a team from its Prevention Directorate, during its follow-up of the Kadhimiya Enforcement Department, detected deteriorated files and records that were not electronically archived, exposing them to damage or loss and creating an environment for blackmailing citizens and the spread of bribery, stressing the need for comprehensive digital transformation and the provision of electronic payment tools.
A report addressed to the Presidencies of the Council of Ministers and the Judiciary indicated heavy crowding and deficiencies in signage, as well as a shortage of staff, in addition to delays of more than two months in transferring employee deduction dues and child expenses by several ministries, including Defense and Karkh Third Education, calling for strengthening staffing and obliging ministries to adhere to set disbursement deadlines.
