The Communications and Media Commission (CMC) has announced the completion of a comprehensive technical plan to ensure the quality of telecommunications services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, confirming the full readiness of networks to accommodate millions of visitors after comprehensive maintenance of hundreds of towers. The Commission explained that it coordinated with mobile phone companies to enhance infrastructure in high-density provinces to meet the massive surge in communications and data traffic. The plan included adding dozens of mobile and fixed stations, marking a significant increase compared to last year, as well as boosting radio capacities, adding new frequencies and microwave links, and connecting several towers with optical fibers. The Commission also noted the successful completion of proactive maintenance for all targeted towers, alongside doubling field teams to ensure network stability around the clock.
