Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani announced on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) the continuation of the series of successes in performing pediatric open-heart surgeries, describing the achievement as a pivotal step in the path of developing the health system in the governorate.
Al-Eidani attributed these successes to the medical competencies in the Basra Health Department, which succeeded in performing precise interventions that previously required travel to foreign countries.
He considered that what has been achieved confirms the saying "the first of the rain is a flower," heralding a series of medical achievements that will serve the people of the governorate.
