With Iraqi Hands: Completion of Comprehensive Maintenance for a German Locomotive in Preparation for Its Return to Service

mniraq - The Ministry of Transport announced that technical staff in the locomotives unit have completed comprehensive maintenance work on the German locomotive numbered (2547), as part of the strategic plan to rehabilitate the railway fleet and enhance its operational efficiency. In an official statement, the Ministry noted that the locomotive's rehabilitation falls within efforts to reform the transport sector and transform its assets into productive capacities, contributing to an increased ability to transport goods and passengers, as well as reducing operational costs and boosting public revenues. It added that the locomotive will officially enter service within the fleet after the installation of its roof is completed, forming a new qualitative addition to the operational capabilities of the Iraqi railway network.
