mniraq - The Ministry of Water Resources announced the completion of new water barriers and buffers on the Euphrates River and Shatt Al-Rumaitha, as part of a strategic plan to curb the spread of the harmful water hyacinth plant that threatens water wealth. Engineering and technical teams are continuing their intensive work to install these buffers between the Al-Diwaniyah and Al-Muthanna provinces to prevent the transfer and accumulation of aquatic plants. This vital project contributes to alleviating water bottlenecks that hinder the smooth flow in rivers and streams, thereby ensuring the efficient delivery of allocated water quotas to benefiting agricultural areas and regions located at the tail ends of the rivers.
