The proceedings of the recent parliamentary session dedicated to a confidence vote for the new government have elicited mixed reactions within political circles, accompanied by warnings of potential repercussions on the political landscape if prior agreements are not honored. Abdul Samad Al-Zarkoushi, a member of the Coordination Framework, stated that the session witnessed unexpected developments as some political forces failed to adhere to their commitments regarding voting for specific bloc candidates. Al-Zarkoushi confirmed that these developments will be under review, with intensive meetings scheduled in the coming days, particularly within the Coordination Framework, to assess the situation. He warned that breaching political consensus could trigger ripples extending beyond the parliament to affect the operations of local governments in the provinces. He emphasized the necessity for all forces to commit to the agreed-upon trajectories to avoid entering into complex political dilemmas. It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives granted confidence to the new government, headed by Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, and its ministerial program, while postponing the vote on several ministerial portfolios until after the Eid al-Adha holidays.
