US Military Leaders Seek a Diplomatic Exit Following Months of Military Escalation

Media reports have revealed that senior US military leaders are engaged in intensive discussions to find a face-saving exit from the six-month-long conflict. The reports clarified that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff informed key administration advisors of the urgent US need to end the war, warning that available military escalation options could backfire and that relying solely on airpower would not achieve the stated objectives. Informed sources indicated a growing consensus among senior officials, including intelligence directors, cabinet members, and leaders, that the war has reached a critical crossroads. These moves and side consultations aim to coordinate across various agencies to clarify the limitations and risks associated with available military alternatives, and to avoid scenarios involving the deployment and involvement of US ground troops in the region.
