mniraq - Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali al-Zaidi, directed on Saturday (September 12, 2026), the dismissal of the police commander of Maysan Governorate from his position, along with transferring a number of security directors to service and referring them to investigation.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu'man, stated that the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ordered the dismissal of Maysan Governorate's police commander from his post.
Al-Nu'man added that al-Zaidi also ordered the transfer of the directors of security agencies in the governorate to service and their referral to investigation, noting that these directives come in light of the recent security breaches witnessed in the governorate.
