mniraq - The Supreme Judicial Council affirmed on Sunday (September 13, 2026) that the rule of law is the fundamental cornerstone of state building, institutional consolidation, and the guarantee of rights and freedoms.
In a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Law, the Council noted that the rule of law is the foundation for achieving justice and equality among all members of society.
It added that the Iraqi judiciary renews its commitment to performing its constitutional mission of upholding the law, safeguarding rights and freedoms, and entrenching the principles of justice, thereby enhancing citizens' trust in state institutions and establishing the principle that all are subject to the law without discrimination.
