Regulatory Authorities Apprehend Suspects of Squandering Public Funds and Recover Large Sums

Competent regulatory authorities successfully detected and apprehended several employees at a tax department in Diyala province for causing a financial loss estimated at two billion Iraqi dinars, due to clear negligence in collection and accounting mechanisms. Immediate investigative procedures resulted in the recovery of hundreds of millions to the public treasury, alongside placing a seizure order on the assets of the involved individuals. Judicial orders were issued to detain the suspects to complete the necessary legal proceedings.
