Prime Minister Issues Financial Directives to Support Development and Diversify Income Sources

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi issued a package of urgent directives on Saturday during his visit to the Ministry of Finance, emphasizing the need to formulate a comprehensive financial vision that responds to economic challenges and supports development plans. He highlighted the importance of diversifying income sources to reduce reliance on oil revenues, calling for the transformation of the public budget into a strategic development roadmap. The directives included strict adherence to scheduled timelines for disbursing civil servants' salaries, social welfare entitlements, and payments to farmers and contractors. He also ordered the restructuring of the state's economic role to act as a supporter and regulator of the private sector, alongside implementing automation in customs to curb corruption, and undertaking structural reforms to ensure sustainable economic growth that meets citizens' needs.
