Iraqi political leaders affirmed the country's diligent efforts to build balanced strategic relations with neighboring countries, based on mutual cooperation and the consolidation of regional stability. During the reception of a high-level regional security and intelligence delegation, emphasis was placed on constitutional principles that prohibit the use of Iraqi territory as a launching pad to threaten the security of regional countries, with mutual confirmation on the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and rejecting foreign interference. Promising horizons for economic cooperation were also reviewed, particularly major strategic projects that enhance Iraq's geographical position, as well as the exchange of expertise in combating terrorism and drying up its sources.
