mniraq - The First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Al-Masari, announced that the 2027 federal budget draft law is still undergoing governmental procedures and has not yet been sent to the House of Representatives. Al-Masari attributed the delay to the failure to finalize the project in the Council of Ministers, due to the need to re-categorize the financial allocations for newly established ministries, such as Tourism and Antiquities, and the Digital Economy. He confirmed that the government will refer the draft to Parliament immediately upon completing these amendments, at a time when preliminary estimates indicate that the proposed spending volume reaches about 217 trillion dinars with an expected deficit estimated at 50 trillion dinars, calculating the price of a barrel of oil at 58 dollars.
