The Parliament hosted the Director General of Traffic, Lieut. Gen. Adi Al-Hassani, along with several senior directorate officials, to discuss proposed amendments to the current traffic law. MP Mahmoud Faleh Al-Shammari stated that the session focused on clauses aimed at upgrading services and reducing financial and administrative burdens on citizens. Key proposed amendments include abolishing the doubling of traffic fines and lowering their value to ensure equity, allowing a specific percentage of free window tinting under legal regulations, and permitting vehicle exports outside the country in accordance with applicable laws. Al-Shammari also highlighted the upcoming launch of a digital application enabling the electronic renewal of driving licenses and vehicle registrations with direct home delivery, emphasizing parliament's commitment to supporting legislation that serves the public interest.
