OpenAI announced the launch of a new smart keyboard named "Codex Micro," specifically designed to integrate with its Codex AI programming platform to accelerate the management of AI-driven coding functions. The hardware device, priced at $230, features a non-traditional design containing only 12 keys, a joystick, and a rotary knob to customize direct shortcuts and control reasoning effort and software output quality. Developed in collaboration with Canadian manufacturer Work Louder, this represents OpenAI's first physical consumer product as part of its hardware expansion strategy, amid ongoing legal disputes with Apple over trade secret claims.
