National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji affirmed on Thursday, May 28, 2026, that Iraq's sovereignty and national security are non-negotiable constants, emphasizing that the country is not an arena for conflicts or for settling regional and international scores. In a speech delivered at the 14th International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters in Moscow, Al-Araji explained that true security is built on strategic balance and dialogue, not on military force or hegemonic policies. He strongly condemned the unjustified military targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the bombing of civilians and schools, describing them as blatant violations of international humanitarian law. He called for an effective international approach based on intelligence cooperation and drying up the sources of terrorism, reaffirming Iraq's commitment to being an element of balance and stability and a bridge for dialogue in its regional environment.
